On April 8th Jesus birthed something new and exciting within His Church here in Edmond, Oklahoma. It sure
is a beautiful thing! It is called ETS. (these letters stand for Equipping The Saints) Actually, the seed of this new
ministry was planted in my spirit on November 20, 2010 somewhere over the Pacific Ocean just outside of
Nagoya, Japan. What a privilege it is to be a part of this great new thing God is doing in our city that will
eventually spread out to cover our state and even beyond.
People want to know all about something that is new and exciting, and this is the main question that seems to
surface: “Is this a new church?” I have not heard anything about a new church from Jesus; therefore, my answer
has to be “No.” However, over the years I have learned not to limit God in any way, so He is welcome to do
whatever He desires with ETS, but what I heard is that ETS is a teaching platform from which the apostolic voice
will flow.
Jesus emphasized strongly in our first session on April 8th the need for a “new wineskin” (Mark 2:22) in which
He could pour His Spirit in full measure so that it could then be poured out into our city and thus fulfill the
prophetic word of Joel 2. The wineskin of course refers to a container. The dynamic power of the new wine
cannot be contained in an old container that is set in its shape and hardened; therefore, only a new wineskin can
accommodate it. Jesus here refers to His Church; He likens the Church to a wineskin. He greatly desires to pour
out His Spirit in full measure, but we must ask ourselves, “Is the present Church of Edmond ready to accept such
a powerful move of God?”
One part of the job description of an apostle is to set things in order. (Titus 1:5) Of course, it is understood
that something is out of order if God desires for it to be set in order. The Church is out of order right now. The
problem is that it has been out of order for so long it is set now in the ways of man much like an old wineskin is
set after a long period of time. This condition limits what God can do as far as answering our prayers that the
Holy Spirit be poured into us in a powerful way. God will answer our prayer for our city and He will fulfill the
prophecy of Joel 2; this will happen because the new wineskin will be produced and the result will be glorious!
The commission of ETS is help move the Church of Edmond into its divine destiny so our City can fulfill its
destiny.
What we are doing in ETS is the very same ministry method Jesus used in His earthly ministry, which is to first
of all teach the people truth. Knowledge in the key. Knowledge is absolutely essential if the covenant people of
God are to move into our individual destinies. As we do, the corporate Body will fulfill its destiny. That is what we
are doing in ETS – teaching.
Our Teacher (Holy Spirit) will reveal truth to us directly from the Word of God and we, the Church of Edmond,
will rise into a new and powerful walk with God empowered by the Spirit, emboldened to do the works of Jesus,
and edified to be the Church of the Most High God. You will see that we have entered into a supernatural
season in which we will experience the signs, wonders, and miracles of the first-century Church. It will be a
season of great harvest of souls because people will see the demonstrated love and power of Jesus in His
saints. This will culminate in the fulfillment of the prophetic word of Isaiah 60, “Arise, shine, for your light has
come!” Then the end will be.
My encouragement to you is to jump in this river with us and let’s experience the fullness of our God
together. Amen.
